Narrative:
To connect the public and private vicinities througha transition path and to give public awareness through the site.

The Site 2 building is sit between the King St (BUSY road) and Wilson St (QUIET road). The transition role is become one of development for my design. I use the WARM colour to represent the most using and COLD colour as a less using.

As the connection between the busy road and quiet road, I break the building form into two part. The middle is the public path since the transition role of both streets. And this can also balance the using of the both streets.

Site 2 is the only site which has contour, it is an iconic for this site. Therefore, in order to respect the iconic, the public path is designed to corporation with slope. And a relationship with the site is formed.

As the DIRECT sunlight is not good to display the artworks, so the roof apply some special glass to diffuse the sunlight in order to provide a soft light for the visitors to visit the artwork.

The Left upper corner and right bottom corner are the courtyard. Passengers can rest on the courtyard. And there are sculptures displaying on the two courtyard. Although there is no enclosure for these two courtyard, for the security of the sculptures in the evening, the sculptures will be moved into the stock room. Therefore, the stock room should next to the courtyards. And the workshop should beside the stock room as the workshop is a place for clients to remake the sculptures together. Sometimes, the large sculptures are not easy to transport, so they will be separated into different components to transport. The workshop provides a place fro clients to remake the sculptures.

A large window is opened onto the public path. The artworks do not only present in the interior. They also display to the public who walk through the public path. And this is increasing the awareness of the gallery.

Plans

There is three galleries in my deisgn. The main gallery is an empty space for the client to set up the gallery. The other two galleries are the sub-galley.

The first one is Moving gallery. There is a long corridor to enter the moving gallery. The artworks behind the windows. When visitors walk through the corridor, the artwork is also "moving" as the window frame. The second gallery is stair gallery. Watching the artwork while visitors are stepping on the stairs. The space next to the staircases display the artwork.
